Tottenham laughed at as yet another player set to miss Liverpool game

Tottenham supporters have mocked the club after it was revealed that Antonin Kinsky is unlikely to make his debut against Liverpool.

The Sun reporter Tom Barclay shared via X on Monday (6 January) that the new signing is unlikely to play in the EFL Cup semi-final first leg due to not receiving his work permit in time.

It means that Brandon Austin could be set to start between the sticks, with Fraser Forster still suffering from illness that kept him out of the Newcastle United loss.

Spurs supporters are not impressed by the news that their new goalkeeper will not feature in such an important clash as the club seek a first trophy since 2008.

Tottenham fans not impressed with Antonin Kinsky news

Spurs fans are not happy about the update on Kinsky, with one supporter commenting in a sarcastic post on X: “This is because Archie Gray has impressed etc etc…”

Another commented: “Even if he was available Ange won’t put him in. He will say he needs to settle. I know our manager.”

One Spurs fan, meanwhile, simply posted a laughing face emoji seemingly in disbelief that another player now looks set to miss the high-profile fixture amid a long list of injury and illness victims.

After Brandon Austin’s performance against Newcastle in the 2-1 loss, it makes no sense to throw the new signing in at the deep end anyway.

Especially against Arne Slot’s free-scoring Reds, who have notched 20 goals in their last six matches in all competitions, including six against Spurs when Fraser Forster started in goal.

The worst thing that Postecoglou could do is throw his new addition in against the Premier League leaders and concede a load of goals – that would undermine the Czech international’s confidence immediately.

The 21-year-old should be eased in over the next few games as he gets to grips with the pace and physicality of the English game.

In other Tottenham news, David Ornstein has shared a new update on Postecoglou’s future at the club.
