Tottenham ‘lucky not to be relegated’ after awful developments
Tottenham’s woeful Premier League season took another turn for the worse on Sunday when they were beaten 4-2 at Wolves.
Spurs have now lost a whopping 17 games in 32 top-flight outings, and supporters will be eager to see the back of a dreadful domestic campaign which sees them sitting 15th.
The manner of Tottenham’s defeat to Wolves epitomised how poor their season has been, as Ange Postecoglou’s backline was all over the place as they allowed Vitor Pereira’s side to notch four goals.
Postecoglou has been under constant pressure this term, while Sunday’s sorry exploits at Molineux will not have helped his cause.

Nigel Reo-Coker makes Tottenham relegation claim
Amid their woeful Premier League season, Spurs are still vying to reach the Europa League semi-finals and face Frankfurt in the second leg of their quarter-final on 17 April.
However, Nigel Reo-Coker has outlined just how poor the North Londoners have been in the top-flight this term.
BBC Radio 5 Live’s Darren Fletcher asked Reo-Coker on the Football Daily podcast: “They (Tottenham) can’t be this bad surely?
The former Aston Villa man replied: “They are that bad, Fletch, and they probably will finish 17th.
“And they are so fortunate, Tottenham, that the three teams below them were that awful this year. If those three teams were slightly better and had a bit more about themselves, I would not be surprised if Tottenham could have ended up in the relegation zone. They are that bad.
“They’re awful to watch. They’re not a team.”
Only the Europa League can save Postecoglou’s job now
As alluded to by Reo-Coker, there is now a serious risk that Tottenham could finish 17th in the Premier League after their heavy defeat to Wolves.
After beating Spurs, Pereira’s side sit 16th in the table, just two points below Spurs, and have now won each of their last four top-flight games.
Meanwhile, Postecoglou’s men have managed just one victory in their last five Premier League outings, and that win came against a hopeless Southampton outfit who have already been relegated.
West Ham, who currently occupy 17th place but are just two points behind Spurs, may also fancy their chances of overtaking Tottenham after putting in a decent performance in Sunday’s defeat to Liverpool.
The Hammers appear likely to win their next game as they take on Southampton.
Courtesy of such a woeful Premier League season, the only way Postecoglou can avoid the sack is by guiding Tottenham to Europa League glory.
