Tottenham hand out ‘indefinite bans’ to supporters after Liverpool controversy
Tottenham continued their terrible Premier League form on Sunday as Liverpool cruised to a 5-1 victory at Anfield.
While expectations were no doubt low for the match, it was another humiliating defeat for the club and Ange Postecoglou which proved how far Spurs had fallen this season.
Plenty went wrong in the match, with Tottenham being labelled “embarrassing” by Richard Keys.
However, the situation is now getting worse for many fans of the club as Tottenham has begun handing out indefinite bans to supporters.

Tottenham ban supporters who resold away tickets for Liverpool match
Tottenham’s defeat to Liverpool allowed Arne Slot to lift the Premier League title in his first season at the Reds.
The fixture was therefore in high demand by the Anfield faithful, as supporters had a chance to see their club lift the title for the first time since 1990, with their previous Premier League coming during COVID.
Therefore, on matchday, it became apparent that a few Tottenham supporters had sold their tickets to Liverpool fans which is strictly prohibited.
Now, the club has issued a statement regarding this issue, with Spurs now set to hand out indefinite bans to those who were caught.
One section of the statement on the Tottenham Hotspur website (30 April) reads: “As previously communicated, we operate a zero-tolerance approach towards ticket touting and all forms of unofficial ticket resale.
“We have therefore identified the supporters whose tickets were purchased from resale websites, and those whose tickets were found in possession of home fans, and will be issuing the following sanctions to each: Immediate removal of Season Ticket, cancellation of all match tickets – home and away – for the remainder of the 2024/25 season, removal of all ticketing points, indefinite Club ban – to be reviewed after three years.”

Tottenham make the right decision regarding fan resales
Despite the issues at the club this season, incidents such as these should be punished by the club.
You cannot have fans moan about the performances and then let Liverpool fans into the away end
The players who saw this would no doubt be demoralised further, and it could have affected the overall score.
The match may not have meant anything on paper, but the club needs to hit form at some point if they are going to win the Europa League. Incidents like this will only make players perform worse and put more pressure on them.
Hopefully, this will be a warning to many fans who have considered doing this for the remaining away matches this season and the practice comes to a quick end.
