Tottenham fixture changed at late notice as details emerge

Tottenham Women will face Everton Women on 29 January in their rescheduled Women’s FA Cup fourth-round tie.

Spurs suffered a humiliating 4-0 thrashing by Manchester United in the FA Cup final last term, a feat Robert Vilahamn will be eager not to repeat this year.

The original clash between the Women’s Super League sides was set to take place last weekend but was called off due to a frozen pitch, as weather conditions threatened matches up and down the country.

However, Everton Women shared via X (13 January) that the new date has been confirmed for 29 January at Walton Park, with a kick-off time of 7pm.

Tottenham Women to begin FA Cup campaign v Everton

Fast forward eight months since the defeat at Wembley and Robert Vilahamn’s side are struggling in the WSL, 10 points adrift of North London rivals Arsenal in third place.

While the Lilywhites were not expected to launch an assault on the WSL this term, the supporters will have hoped for a better display than what is unfolding at the Gaughan Group Stadium.

Tottenham have bounced back from the 3-0 loss in the North London derby in November by securing passage to the League Cup quarter-finals and going undefeated in their last two league outings.

Robert Vilahamn enjoyed a positive first season in charge of Tottenham Women.

One of which was a 2-1 win at home against Everton after a Beth England brace secured Vilahamn’s first three points in the league for over a month.

Everton have since clawed back the deficit in the bottom half of the table and remain only two points behind Spurs, so the clash on 29 January will surely be a well-contested tie.
