Tottenham eye move for Metz forward Georges Mikautadze – report
Tottenham are keeping tabs on Metz forward Georges Mikautadze, according to Daily Mail journalist Simon Jones.
Writing in his transfer confidential column on Monday (August 28), Jones said Spurs were among the clubs in attendance as Mikautadze scored the winner in Metz’s 1-0 win at Clermont Foot on Saturday (August 26).
On 16 August, French news outlet Le10Sport reported that Sheffield United and West Ham are among the other clubs monitoring the situation of Mikautadze.

However, Jones did suggest that Spurs are more actively pursuing a deal for Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson.
Spurs are reportedly ready to offer players as well as cash in exchange for the Wales international.
Worth a look
Tottenham have a lack of senior central strikers on their books after record goalscorer Harry Kane was sold to Bayern Munich.
Georgia international Mikautadze caught the eye with 23 goals in 37 league appearances as Metz were promoted to Ligue 1 last term and he already has two in three top-flight games this time around.
It would probably represent somewhat of a risk for Spurs to go for the 22-year-old, but he is undoubtedly a player with a lot of potential.

Moreover, the Le10Sport suggested he would be available for around £17million – so even if they do end up spending big on Johnson, Mikautadze may represent another option at an affordable price.
Having started the season in impressive fashion, with seven points from nine including a 2-0 win at Brentford on Saturday, Ange Postecoglou will want to keep up the feel-good factor and make sure he has a squad capable of competing throughout the season.
Mikautadze would certainly add depth, and who knows he could end up being a real bargain if they opted to pursue this one.
