Tottenham could ‘pre-agree’ Dean Huijsen transfer before June 1

Tottenham already appear to have one eye on summer transfers after a horrifying Premier League season under Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs have vastly underperformed this term, and Sunday’s 4-2 defeat at Wolves saw them somehow slip to 15th in the Premier League.

The North London club have shipped 49 goals in the Premier League this season, with a move for Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen already on the cards.

Tottenham to pre-agree transfer for Bournemouth star Huijsen

Since joining Bournemouth from Juventus last summer, Huijsen has emerged as one of the best young defenders in the Premier League and has already attracted plenty of transfer interest.

According to GiveMeSport, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle, and Spurs have all made contact with the 20-year-old’s camp and could pre-agree a deal for Huijsen before the transfer window opens on June 1.

The Spain international has a £50m release clause in his contract, meaning that there will be little club-to-club negotiation between the Cherries and interested parties.

Huijsen could team up with Bournemouth boss Iraola at Tottenham

Tottenham could find it difficult to win the race for Huijsen’s services as Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Newcastle could all offer him Champions League football next term, while Postecoglou’s men appear highly unlikely to even finish in the Premier League’s top half.

Huijsen has established himself as a top defender in the Premier League

Thanks to their 1-0 win over Fulham on Monday night, Bournemouth now sit eighth in the top flight and could be playing in either the Europa League or Conference League next season, meaning that Huijsen may be unlikely to swap Dorset for North London.

However, amid the growing pressure on Postecoglou, who may need to win the Europa League to stay in the Spurs dugout, Daniel Levy has eyed Cherries boss Andoni Iraola as a potential replacement.

If Iraola does make the move to Spurs, then Huijsen could be keen to link up with his fellow Spaniard in North London.

The 20-year-old could be a top signing for Tottenham and is already one of the most exciting talents in the Premier League.
