Tottenham condition for Ange Postecoglou sack shared ahead of Rangers clash
Paul O Keefe believes defeats against Rangers and Southampton could spell the end of Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.
The Australian is suffering under mounting pressure in North London after the 4-3 loss against Chelsea at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday [8 December] and now appears to be facing a make-or-break week for his tenure.
O Keefe responded to a Spurs fan account on X [8 December] following the defeat and further added to the narrative that it will take a “remarkable” turnaround for Postecoglou to save his future at Tottenham.
Asked if Postecoglou is on the verge of being sacked, the journalist replied: “Not sure about that but defeat at Rangers and Southampton then it’s very precarious.”

While recording victories over Scottish Premiership side Rangers and Premier League relegation candidates Southampton appears an easily surmountable feat for Postecoglou, recent results suggest otherwise.
Tottenham are one of the most inconsistent sides domestically and in Europe, following up the 4-0 win against Manchester City at the Etihad with a 1-1 draw against Fulham and now losses against Bournemouth and Chelsea.
The supporters confronted Postecoglou in unsavoury footage that emerged from the South Coast after the loss to Bournemouth as tensions between the fanbase and the boss reached boiling point.
And rightfully so, as Spurs boast one of the most talented sides in the Premier League and yet struggle in clashes against mid-to-bottom table sides, leaving the North London outfit in 11th place, with more losses than wins and seven points adrift of the Champions League spots.
Furthermore, the woes have continued onto the European stage with a 2-2 draw against Roma following a 3-2 defeat away at Galatasaray in the Europa League.
However, Postecoglou tends to pull an all-important result out of the bag when Spurs need him most – in all likelihood, he should manufacture the results required to appease the supporters for now.
Although, unless the Tottenham boss learns to adapt his gameplan to the opposition, he will continue to run into problems in North London, and this dance could persist throughout the campaign unless drastic action is taken.
