Tottenham ‘concern’ arises ahead of Frankfurt trip as footage shared
Tottenham have one game left to save their season as they prepare to travel to Germany to face Eintracht Frankfurt again next week.
Spurs drew 1-1 at home to Frankfurt in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie, with Hugo Ekitike and Pedro Porro on the scoresheet.
Ange Postecoglou is under huge pressure as Tottenham manager, with success in Europe the last chance he has to save his job after a dismal domestic campaign.
Tottenham will travel to face Frankfurt in Germany next week with all to play for in the second leg, but they will have one major concern.

Tottenham could be overwhelmed by Frankfurt atmosphere
Frankfurt fans travelled in huge numbers to North London for the first leg of their Europa League clash at Tottenham, and they outsang the Spurs supporters for a lot of the game.
The Standard (10 April) have pointed out how Spurs players were subject to heavy booing and even objects being thrown from the away end whenever they were down at that side of the stadium.
This is perhaps a glimpse of what is to come at Frankfurt, who are well known for producing hostile home atmospheres, and with Spurs under huge pressure, their young side could wilt under the noise.
Indeed, the report adds that next week’s atmosphere is a “fresh concern” for Tottenham, with footage also shared of the vociferous away following in North London, which will be replicated next week.
Matches | Wins | Draws | Losses |
16 | 6 | 3 | 7 |
Tottenham have played away at Rangers and Galatasaray this season and failed to win in these heated stadiums, and Frankfurt may be even louder.
Tottenham’s record in Germany
One positive ahead of the trip is that Spurs have already won in Germany this season, recording a 3-2 victory away at Hoffenheim in the league phase of the Europa League in January.
However, in 16 matches away at German opposition in Spurs’ history, the Lilywhites have recorded just six wins, with three draws and seven defeats.
Their last European knockout game in Germany came in the 2019-20 season, as Spurs were beaten 3-0 away at RB Leipzig in the Champions League last 16.
Spurs beat Borussia Dortmund at the same stage in 2019, winning 1-0 at Signal Iduna Park, and they hope to take inspiration from the side that reached the final of the competition.
