Europa League win on cards at Tottenham
Tottenham are one of the favourites to win the Europa League after beating AZ, according to Opta Analyst.
The supercomputer has predicted (14 March) the North London outfit to have an 18.4 per cent chance of lifting the trophy in Bilbao.
Team | Chance of winning Europa League (percentage) |
1. Athletic Club | 22.4 |
2. Lazio | 21.5 |
3. Tottenham | 18.4 |
4. Manchester United | 13.3 |
5. Olympique Lyon | 10.9 |
6. Eintracht Frankfurt | 7.8 |
7. Bodo/Glimt | 3.4 |
8. Rangers | 2.2 |
Spurs are the third favourites in the competition now behind Athletic Club and Lazio, with Manchester United just behind Postecoglou’s team.
The Lilywhites have also been given a 63 per cent chance of making it to the semi-finals and 35.2 per cent chance of reaching the final.

Spurs desperate for Europa League win
Postecoglou has had a torrid time at Spurs this season after several key players have suffered fitness issues.
Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have missed most of the campaign, with the Australian manager forced to play with Archie Gray as one of his centre-backs for several weeks.
The former Celtic boss has also seen his attackers unavailable for a considerable period, with Dominic Solanke only recently returning to action.
Postecoglou has been unable to rely on Richarlison due to his consistent fitness issues, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the North London outfit sell him next summer.
The Lilywhites have gone 17 years without lifting a trophy, and the Australian manager would undoubtedly put his name in the history books if they win the Europa League this season.
Daniel Levy has been trigger-happy over the years, and the former Celtic boss could potentially be fighting for his job if Spurs don’t win the European competition.
Despite the North London outfit’s poor domestic campaign, they still have a chance to redeem their season in Europe and qualify for the Champions League in the process.
