Tottenham can seal bargain David Hancko transfer in new multi-million twist

Tottenham can now secure the services of Feyenoord defender David Hancko at a bargain fee this month.

TBR reported on 17 January that the 27-year-old Slovakia international is available for only £30million with the Dutch side even open to cashing in.

This is £5million lower than the £35million it was understood to cost Spurs to secure the services of the centre-back. [TBR, 18 December]

Tottenham must take advantage of the opportunity and sign David Hancko

Finances are expected to be tight at the North London outfit in January so they must capitalise on any bargains they get.

Ange Postecoglou will surely be asking for the board to help him out a bit in the market and the fact that they’ve stuck beside him suggests they’re willing to take a punt.

Hancko, at 27, is entering the prime in his career and can be a mainstay in the Spurs backline for the better part of the next decade.

He wouldn’t take too long to adapt to the Premier League either and is a ball-playing centre-back so would fit into Postecoglou’s system.

It remains to be seen whether or not Daniel Levy will sanction big money for a new defender in January or ask the manager to work with what he’s got.

Currently, the Australian is under pressure and any arguments with the board could lead to his sacking.
