Tottenham breaking news: Ange Postecoglou on brink of sack

Ange Postecoglou is now on the brink of finally being sacked by Tottenham, according to The Sun.

The newspaper reported the news on X immediately after the 2-1 defeat at home against Leicester City on 26 January.

Richarlison had given the Lilywhites the lead in north London, but goals from Jamie Vardy and Bilal El Khannouss gave the Foxes all three points.

Daniel Levy faced protests from the fans throughout, and his hand may now have been forced.

Ange Postecoglou sack sealed at Tottenham

This was embarrassing and surely must be the final straw.

Leicester have been battered by almost everyone they have faced, especially in recent weeks with fans and even possibly their players turning against Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Everyone can talk about injuries as much as they like, but that starting XI was more than enough to beat a Foxes side who had lost their previous seven in the Premier League.

The players cannot avoid criticism either, with Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulsevski and the midfield simply embarrassing themselves time and time again.

Postecoglou will leave with sympathy if he is sacked, but you cannot get away with a record like this, especially against the teams that it has happened against.

Forget about the Carabao Cup and Europa League, a new manager is needed for those competitions.
