Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou targeted by fans inside ground

Ange Postecoglou was on the receiving end of “sacked in the morning” chants from Tamworth supporters after a dismal FA Cup display by Tottenham.

Spurs secured their spot in the next round of the FA Cup with a 3-0 extra-time victory against Tamworth, but it was an absolutely dire performance from Tottenham.

Timo Werner was just one player to have massively underperformed, with it at times hard to see which club were the Premier League outfit.

The performance, or lack of it by Tottenham, led to jeers from the home supporters with a large portion of the crowd targeting Postecoglou with chants, particularly towards the end of normal time.

Tottenham must be embarrassed after FA Cup display

Given the gulf between the two sides, Spurs should have been more than capable of strolling through the game with little effort and when taking into account the strength of the side put out by Postecoglou, the level of performance is unacceptable.

Tottenham just lacked in every area of the game with no creativity or real attacking threat throughout the encounter which went to extra time, sending shockwaves across football.

After the highs of an EFL Cup victory against Liverpool, it is mind-blowing to see how poor the performance was against non-league Tamworth and it surely has to ramp up the pressure on a seemingly already-defeated Postecoglou.

Quite frankly, if Sunday’s performance was repeated against any Premier League opposition, Tottenham would have been on the receiving end of a cricket score, with Tamworth unfortunate not to have won the game in regular time.

It’ll be hard for Postecoglou to find another excuse to defend his side’s performance.

In other Tottenham news, this Spurs target was left out of his side’s matchday squad as rumours of a move intensified.
