Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou makes history after back-to-back Manager of the Month awards
Ange Postecoglou has made history after the Premier League announced the Tottenham boss had won September’s Manager of the Month award.
As confirmed via the Premier League’s official website (13 October), Postecoglou has become the first manager to win the award in each of his first two months in the competition.
In August he became the first Australian to ever win the award and has picked it up once again after guiding Spurs to the top of the Premier League with three wins from four in September.

Jurgen Klopp was the last manager to win consecutive awards during the 2019/20 season, the same year Liverpool would go on to lift the title.
Alan Hutton spoke to Tottenham News about Postecoglou’s fast start at Spurs:
“People from Scotland, we knew what he was going to do, he was going to play a particular kind of football, and he’s bedded it into them early doors.
“All the players are singing off the same hymn sheet, going in one direction, and it looks as though they genuinely love playing for him. I think when you get that, that’s when you get your best football.

“Can they keep it up, that’s the question mark. I mean can they do this for the full season? Can they go long in cup competitions because they have gone so long without a trophy, so that’s what they’ll be looking to do.
“He knows what it takes to get over the line, yes it’s harder, but he’ll feel that he can do it.”
In other Tottenham news, the transfer fee for Harry Kane doesn’t scratch the surface of a debt hanging over the club.
