Tottenham bombshell: Dominic Solanke suffers crushing injury blow
Dominic Solanke is the latest Tottenham player to pick up an injury, according to Paul O Keefe.
The journalist reported via his personal X account on 18 January that Solanke suffered a knee injury of “some description”.
He added that the seriousness of the problem and a potential return date for the English striker are yet to be confirmed.
Ange Postecoglou suffers Dominic Solanke blow at Tottenham
No one needs reminding of Solanke’s importance to Tottenham this season. The three-time England international has bagged 11 goals and six assists in 29 appearances across all competitions this term.
The lack of ample replacements also makes the situation that much worse for the North London giants.
Timo Werner’s performances this season have left much to be desired, while Richarlison has just returned from a long-term injury.
Ange Postecoglou may be forced to rush Richarlison into his starting line-up when Spurs face Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday, 19 January.
Even then, there are no guarantees that the Brazilian can perform at the level Solanke has been doing this season.
Postecoglou will be hoping that Solanke’s injury is not serious and that he can return to action soon.
It is worth noting that Spurs were interested in signing Randal Kolo Muani on loan from Paris Saint-Germain before he decided to join Juventus [Fabrizio Romano].
It would not be a surprise if Daniel Levy is already having calls about potentially signing another striker, with Solanke now on the treatment table along with the likes of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.
