Tottenham bombshell as Daniel Levy told to break bank for Euro 2024 winner

Tottenham supporters have urged Daniel Levy on social media to break the bank to sign Barcelona star and Euro 2024 winner Dani Olmo.

According to a bombshell update by Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo (1 January), Spurs made contact with the LaLiga giants regarding the midfielder after they failed to register him for the second half of the season.

Spurs were said to be eager to activate his £55.8million release clause at RB Leipzig before he decided to return to Catalonia, but now they have the perfect opportunity to land their man.

Tottenham supporters want Daniel Levy to sign Dani Olmo

While the 2024 European Championship winner is keen to remain in Spain until his registration debacle with LaLiga irons out, he may be forced to seriously reconsider his future.

Barcelona’s financial woes are well-documented and, unless Joan Laporta generates serious investment into the club, it is unlikely Olmo will be allowed to play until next year.

Furthermore, Spurs are desperate for another creative outlet in North London, particularly after Son Heung-min’s “shocker” in the 2-2 draw against Wolves on Sunday (29 December), sparking fresh concerns surrounding his future.

The Tottenham faithful have been vocal on social media urging Levy to sanction the move.

One supporter claimed “he would become our best player immediately” while another simply asked, when posed with the question, “does a bee like to buzz?”

Although other supporters decided to go down the more sarcastic route, claiming Olmo would be a “decent [Timo] Werner back up”, the overall consensus is clear.

There is no doubt that Olmo would be a massive coup for Tottenham should Levy be able to pry the midfielder out of Barcelona.

The situation, for the time being, remains unclear. Still, Olmo has an important decision to make in the prime years of his career: waste the next few months in the stands in Spain waiting for the situation to resolve or accept the situation for what it is and potentially land in North London.

Only time will tell how this saga will unfold.
