Tottenham board seriously considers hiring Xavi as new manager, talks planned for December

Tottenham have Xavi on their list of Thomas Frank replacements, with concerns mounting after a loss to Fulham on Saturday.

Spurs lost 2-1 to Fulham at home, to give the Cottagers their first Premier League away win of the season.

Frank’s odds have been slashed for him to be sacked next, with growing fan frustration potentially promoting Joe Lewis to make a call.

Tottenham want to be successful this season, and all signs are now suggesting that Frank may be replaced before the January transfer window.

Xavi ‘ready’ to return to coaching with Tottenham interested

Tottenham want to make a statement in January by bringing in players that could help them achieve in both the Premier League and the Champions League.

Xavi was linked to Spurs in the summer before Daniel Levy decided that Frank was the head coach to go with.

However, reports suggest that despite Levy’s departure, internal figures at Tottenham still hold Xavi in high regard.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Tottenham’s board are seriously considering Xavi to be Frank’s successor before the end of December.

The Spaniard is “ready” to return to management, but is seeking the right project where he can have a big influence on transfers.

There has been no contact made by the Lilywhites yet, but it’s reported that Tottenham “will speak” to Xavi if results do not improve soon.

Xavi enjoyed a long playing career with Barcelona before making a move to Al-Sadd in Qatar, where he saw out the last four years of his time as a footballer.

The former midfielder then embarked on his coaching journey with Al-Sadd, impressing by winning a remarkable seven trophies with the club before leaving for his beloved Barcelona.

With Frank’s future up in the air, it seems that Xavi could be the ideal man to take the reins next.

The Spaniard is currently without a club and may be seen not only as a cheaper option, but a smart one.
