Tottenham and Celtic manager swap mooted for Ange Postecoglou

Stan Collymore has suggested that Ange Postecoglou could end up back at Celtic as he continues to struggle at Tottenham.

The Lilywhites welcomed Chelsea to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday [8 December] but despite going 2-0 up after 11 minutes, ended up losing the game 4-3.

The defeat means Spurs haven’t won in four games now and although the Australian stands by his playing style, Brendan Rodgers has been tipped to possibly replace him.

Collymore took to X during the defeat, saying: “Swap Brendan for Ange.”

Will Tottenham stand by Ange Postecoglou?

Since the Australian’s arrival in North London, supporters have certainly enjoyed an increase in the attacking quality of football being played at the club which, in turn, has increased the entertainment of the team.

However, this style is leading Tottenham to lose too many games which is the most important thing if the club are looking to find success in the Premier League.

The result against Chelsea means Spurs are sitting 11th in the table, seven points away from the top four which is exactly where the Lilywhites want to be competing.

The manager has made no secret of his tradition of winning a trophy in his second season with a club, something supporters at Spurs have been longing for a while now.

However, this is starting to look less likely as the inconsistency of the North London club continues and if things don’t improve soon, there will be serious doubts forming over the direction of the club under Ange.

Would Celtic welcome him back? Probably not right now.

In other Tottenham news, Spurs have chosen a preferred option to replace Postecoglou in a sack decision.
