Tottenham advertise brand new jobs after behind-the-scenes investigation
Tottenham have listed three job openings within the club’s medical department.
As per The Spurs News on Instagram (8 January), the North London club are looking for a brand new ‘First Team Performance Rehabilitation Coach’, a ‘First Team Rehabilitation Physiotherapist’ and a new ‘Head of Men’s Medical’.
As reported via The Standard (12 December), Spurs were set to undergo a second review of their medical department in less than a year after a series of injuries in North London.
Behind-the-scenes dismissals were mooted as a result, with the club now actively recruiting within that department.
Tottenham set to revamp their medical department
It looks as though there were some outcomes to the rumoured review of the club’s medical department.
With three new job listings appearing on the club’s website, it seems as though some people behind the scenes have moved on from Tottenham. Ange Postecoglou has been forced to deal with an extraordinary amount of injuries this season, with Rodrigo Bentancur the latest to be sidelined.
And while Bentancur’s injury was a freak incident, most of the injury concerns have been related to players’ hamstrings. Therefore, while there is every chance that Spurs might just be unlucky when it comes to injuries, it is more likely that some people weren’t doing their jobs properly behind the scenes.
As a result, Spurs looking for new recruits is a good thing, as it demonstrates that the club has recognised an issue and is working toward ways to fix that issue.
However, only time will tell if these new hires make any difference.
