Tim Sherwood shares what Tottenham chiefs secretly think as Igor Tudor sack call locked in
Tim Sherwood believes Tottenham will already regret sacking Thomas Frank and replacing him with Igor Tudor.
The Croatian joined the club last month, replacing Thomas Frank after the Dane’s dismal period at the helm.
Since then, Spurs have lost all three – against Arsenal, Fulham and Crystal Palace.
The recent Palace defeat at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has further exacerbated relegation concerns, with Tottenham just a point above the bottom three.
Former boss Sherwood has suggested that the club may already be regretting their decision.
Tim Sherwood believes Tottenham have made a big mistake
Tudor joined the club after guiding Juventus to a Champions League spot last term, gaining a reputation as a firefighter-type manager.
However, the situation is continuing to worsen for Tottenham, who sit just outside the relegation zone.
Spurs will not be sacking Tudor before Tuesday’s clash with Atletico Madrid as he has been scheduled to speak to the media as usual on Monday.
Speaking on Sky Sports Soccer Special on Saturday, former boss Sherwood said: “I think, secretly, they wish they never made this change.
“I think they’d have preferred to keep Thomas Frank and roll the dice in a different direction. I know it’s easy in hindsight, but did we really believe this guy was going to come in and hit the ground running?”
Since taking the job, Tudor has overseen three consecutive losses, while the fixture list does not get any easier, with matches against Atletico Madrid and Liverpool coming up in the next week.
He added: “Why are you asking players not accustomed to playing in certain positions to play in those positions? It’s mind-boggling. The way this team is being run right now is an absolute shambles.”
Spurs have a break from league action this weekend, before they travel to Spain to face Atletico Madrid in the round of 16 of the Champions League.

The new reality Tottenham find themselves in
The ongoing season could not have gone much worse for Tottenham.
Less than a year on from winning the Europa League in Bilbao, serious issues have been showcased at the club, while the squad is incredibly downtrodden and almost uncoachable for Tudor.

At the start of the season, a relegation six pointer between Spurs and Nottingham Forest would not have been predicted, but it is now the reality that Tottenham find themselves in, with the Garibaldi sitting just a point behind them.
After last year’s poor domestic run under Ange Postecoglou, things got worse under Frank, while Tudor has walked into an absolute mess.
Spurs need to put together a run of form that would see them escape trouble, but based off recent performances, that is seemingly a long way away.
