Thomas Frank now odds-on to replace Postecoglou at Tottenham as talks held

Tottenham are continuing their search to hire a new manager despite Ange Postecoglou guiding them to a Europa League trophy.

Their domestic form this season has been woeful and they find themselves in 17th place one more Premier League game left to play.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has been among the candidates linked with replacing the Australian at the helm.

Frank is now 1/2 to become the next Spurs manager

Frank has held talks with the Spurs hierarchy as they’re proceeding with their search despite a trophy win.

Postecoglou guided them to their first trophy in 17 years but Daniel Levy is clearly not letting that impact the plans for the future.

The Australian is facing the sack and the Brentford boss is the favourite to replace him this summer.

Tottenham won the Europa League final.

The betting markets are also reflecting exactly that, making him the frontrunner for the job.

Bet365 have Frank at 1/2 to become the next Spurs boss while the second favourite, Roberto De Zerbi, is all the way down at 8.

Tottenham must not look to hire Frank post Champions League qualification

Hiring Frank would be a questionable decision given his lack of top-tier experience and questionable fit for the club’s ambitions.

While the Dane has done admirably at Brentford, guiding them to mid-table Premier League stability with a pragmatic, counter-attacking style, his resume lacks the pedigree required for a club of Tottenham’s stature.

He has no experience managing in the Champions League, a competition Spurs have qualified for, which demands tactical acumen and high-pressure decision-making.

His Brentford side, while disciplined, do not hog the lion’s share of possession in games and focus on set-pieces and defensive solidity.

This is hardly the expansive, attacking football Spurs fans crave under Postecoglou’s current setup.

With Tottenham’s Champions League status, they can attract managers who have proven track records in top leagues and European competitions.

Frank’s limited experience at the highest level raises doubts about his ability to handle Tottenham’s squad depth and expectations for silverware.

Opting for Frank risks stunting Spurs’ progress when a higher-calibre manager could better capitalise on their European platform and fanbase demands.
