Tamworth v Tottenham: BBC pundit reacts to ‘Stinker’ he heard live on air
Pedro Porro had a sly dig aimed at him by John Murray who called the Spaniard ‘Pedro Poor-o’ after the performance he put in for Tottenham in their FA Cup third-round tie against Tamworth on Sunday.
The defender had just gone on a decent run down the right wing but ended up overhitting his cross much like he had done earlier in the game.
This failed cross ended up with the commentator hitting out at Porro which then caused a reaction from Stephen Warnock who claimed that Murray’s joke was a “stinker”.
“Pedro Porro again over hits the cross by a significant distance and it bounces out harmlessly for Tamworth,” Murray said on BBC Radio Five Live (12 January).
To which Warnock replied: “Poor from Porro but this time he over-cooks it, trying to be too accurate but John that’s an element of panic from Spurs.
Murray then added: “And that’s not the first time from him, Pedro ‘Poor-o’.
“That was a stinker that John, Poor-o,” Warnock replied.
Tottenham should be ashamed of their performance against Tamworth
Even though Tottenham left the Lamb Ground after their 3-0 victory over the Lambs, they should have done far better and not allowed the game to get to extra time.
The National League side put up a more than decent fight against their Premier League counterparts with Andy Peaks’ men almost nicking the win in the dying embers of the 90 minutes.
However, it evidently wasn’t meant to be and because replays in the FA Cup are now scrapped, it feels like the part-time club have been dealt a rather poor hand.

Everyone knows that Spurs have struggled across all competitions this season but the fact they had to go into extra time to beat them, is nothing short of embarrassing.
Ange Postecoglou has a lot of making up to do for the fans and the club themselves if he wants to save his job, but, if we’re being honest, with performances like the one against Tamworth, it feels like it’s only a matter of time until the Australian is relieved of his duties.
