Tamworth player hilariously trolls Man Utd after Tottenham Europa League victory
Manchester United’s woes have worsened after losing to Tottenham in the UEFA Europa League final, with a Tamworth player now aiming a dig at the Red Devils.
Ange Postecoglou stuck to his word and won a trophy in his second season with Tottenham at the Estadio de San Mamés on Wednesday (21 May).
Brennan Johnson’s goal just before half-time proved to be enough for the Lilywhites to win their first piece of silverware since the League Cup in 2008.
Ruben Amorim’s side were brushed aside in the Bilbao showcase, and it is hard to imagine many will be impressed, with one Tamworth player making his feelings perfectly clear.

Tom Tonks makes hilarious Man United and Tottenham admission
Spurs met non-league Tamworth in the FA Cup third round this season, with the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium outfit scoring three goals in extra-time after being held to a 0-0 draw at the Lamb Ground (12 January).
Therefore, Tonks could not resist a dig at Manchester United for their failure to keep a clean sheet against Tottenham inside 90 minutes.
Taking to his personal X account on Wednesday, (21 May), the midfielder wrote, “Lads, Spurs couldn’t even beat me in 90 minutes and I sell sandwiches for a living. Crap.”
Tottenham can push on while United are left in the doldrums
Victory in the final was absolutely vital; luckily for Spurs, it was them who came out on top, and they will now play UEFA Champions League football next season.
That should bring a huge financial boost, which will allow Daniel Levy and Co to invest and attract higher-quality players to North London and quicken their path to success in the future.
| Stats | Tottenham | Man United |
| Possession | 27% | 73% |
| Shots | 3 | 16 |

| Trophies won | 1 | 0 |
Failure to bring the trophy home would have been a disaster, splitting the fanbase even further after a toxic campaign and leaving their future plans in limbo.
The Red Devils are left to deal with that pain instead, with their hopes for a brighter future dashed after their worst campaign in the Premier League era ended on the sourest of notes in Bilbao.
The two clubs could now be set to go on completely different trajectories, with United likely to struggle to attract the calibre of players that they need to compete at the highest level.
Meanwhile, Spurs should enjoy the fruits of their labour and be able to take a step forward after a bleak few years in N17, although questions over Postecoglou’s future remain.
