Son Heung-min reacts to confirmed Tottenham exit news

Son Heung-min has had a difficult season for Tottenham despite becoming a UEFA Europa League champion.

After almost a decade in North London, Son finally won a trophy with Tottenham, after the Lilywhites defeated Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League final in Bilbao (21 May).

However, the Spurs skipper has struggled with several injuries, which have hampered his form this season, leaving questions about his ability to continue at the top level.

And the South Korean has now reacted after confirmed exit news in North London.

Son reacts to several Tottenham departures

With UEFA Champions League football secured and their worst-ever Premier League campaign under wraps, Tottenham will be looking to improve their squad during the summer transfer window.

This means the addition of several top players to help Ange Postecoglou or whoever comes next build on Spurs’ Europa League success over the coming years.

Son’s performances have been inconsistent despite his numbers

In true Daniel Levy fashion, Tottenham will look to balance the books before making any huge buys, and changes already seem to be underway.

It was confirmed by Tottenham on Saturday (31 May) that Fraser Forster, Sergio Reguilon and Alfie Whiteman had all departed the North London club following the conclusion of their contracts, while Timo Werner returns to RB Leipzig after his loan spell in North London.

Tottenham thanked the players via an Instagram post (31 May), which was liked by Son.

Tottenham could replace Son with Jack Grealish

If Son were to depart this summer, Spurs would need to find extra firepower for their left-hand side and have already identified Grealish as a viable option.

The Englishman has struggled to live up to his £100million price tag since moving to Manchester City and has undertaken a peripheral role.

Despite this, Grealish alone could not compensate for the departure of Son, who has been putting up huge numbers over the past decade. Therefore, if Tottenham were to part ways with Son this summer, they would need someone capable of filling the massive void left behind.
