Son Heung-min injury: Tottenham update drops for huge Frankfurt clash
Ange Postecoglou’s future at Tottenham could be decided as soon as Thursday, with a Europa League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt next.
The Lilywhites fell to another Premier League defeat on Sunday (13 April), this time against recently relegation-threatened Wolves.
Postecoglou did make several changes to his side, with Son Heung-min dropping out of the side completely through injury for the 4-2 defeat.
However, with a big game ahead, the Lilywhites need their strongest players available in Germany.

Son injury update provided
After drawing the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final 1-1, as Spurs prepare to head to Frankfurt for the second leg, they have a big job ahead of them.
Given how disastrous the campaign has been for Postecoglou, there is a massive amount of pressure on the boss to deliver on the European stage.
If he cannot deliver, there have been suggestions that Daniel Levy could make the call to sack the manager ahead of the summer transfer window.
With that in mind, Spurs need to have their strongest players available and while he hasn’t been at the expected standards this term, Son is one of those.
Thankfully for supporters, the Daily Mail has reported in its Verdict pages (14 April, page 5) that despite nursing a foot issue, Son is expected to join his teammates for the trip to Germany.

Postecoglou making decision for Levy
Tottenham may have rested players, but their 4-2 loss against Wolves was not undeserving and certainly disappointing for what you would expect from Spurs.

It’s understandable why Levy is giving the boss a chance to prove himself on the European stage, and given it’s the only thing left to play for this season, it’s worth focusing on.
However, as league form continues to be dismal and their Europa League chances hang by a thread, there have to be serious questions over how far the Australian can take Tottenham.
Whether defeat on Thursday would trigger a decision is yet to be seen but if Postescoglou doesn’t want to find out, he will certainly need players of Son’s level to step up and put in their best.
That being said, the managerial issue is only the tip of the iceberg in north London with supporters very vocal against Levy’s tenure as owner.
The chief may make a decision to make a change but if he doesn’t look internally, it seems unlikely that there will be too much future success for Spurs.
