Son Heung-min apologises to Tottenham legend after what he recently said
Son Heung-min is a legendary figure at Tottenham, but his latest comments may anger supporters.
The 32-year-old has struggled in recent months, with Ange Postecoglou’s side enduring a difficult season from a domestic perspective.
Son could still help Spurs to Europa League success and write his name in the history books in North London in the process.

Son makes controversial Gareth Bale claim
Son was recently asked to pick between Gareth Bale and Neymar, and his selection may have come as a surprise to Spurs fans.
The South Korean forward picked the Brazilian rather than his former teammate to go through to the next round of the game, which Liverpool star Mohamed Salah won.
However, in a video shared by GOAL, he made sure to apologise for his comments, saying: “I’m sorry, Gareth, Neymar.”

Son can reach Bale status at Tottenham
Bale is revered at Tottenham as he enjoyed a stunning rise to fame, transforming from a left-back to a winger before winning the Premier League Player of the Season award in the 2012/13 season and two PFA Player of the Year awards.
That form earned him a £80million move to Real Madrid, where he went on to win the Champions League five times and three La Liga titles in a sensational career away from Spurs.
Stats | Son | Bale |
Matches | 448 | 237 |
Goals | 173 | 71 |
Assists | 95 | 53 |
Minutes played | 31,831 | 18,227 |
He returned to N17 on loan in the 2020/21 season before finishing his career in the MLS with Los Angeles FC.
Son can reach that status if he can bring an end to a 17-year trophy drought in North London, despite a poor season on an individual level, which has seen him notch 11 goals and 11 assists in 40 games.
The former Bayer Leverkusen ace has scored 173 goals for the Lilywhites in 448 matches, which is more than Bale’s 71 in 237.
However, the latter would likely have exceeded that mark had he stayed at Spurs rather than moving to the Spanish capital.
That does not take away from what Son has done for Tottenham, though, and if he gets his hands on the trophy that he deserves after his contributions, it will be a real feel-good moment and cement his status.
