Sky Sports share Postecoglou sack news from Tottenham training ground
Ange Postecoglou eased some of the pressure surrounding his job with the 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
Spurs progressed to the Europa League semi-finals with the tense victory in Germany (17 April) and are still in with a chance of ending a 17-year trophy drought.
The Lilywhites’ position in the Premier League and their drab failure in the domestic cup competitions had left the Australian clinging onto his place in the dugout but he looks to be safe for now.

Postecoglou sack update shared after Frankfurt win
Postecoglou could now bring success to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the first time the League Cup win in 2008.
However, if his side were eliminated the outcome may have been very different with Daniel Levy having a tough decision to make.
Sky Sports reporter James Green gave an update on the former Celtic man’s situation (18 April, 12:25pm live on air): “The way I’d assess it, we’d be having a very different conversation on air right now if Tottenham had been knocked out last night.
“I don’t think I’m the only one who believes that. Postecoglou himself said before the game that he’s not thinking about what could happen the morning after.
“He’s aware of the situation. His position probably would have been untenable [with defeat to Frankfurt].”

Levy has a big decision to make in the summer
Levy is under huge pressure, with supporters constantly protesting the way that he runs the North London outfit and demanding change.
One of the major issues is the future of the manager and Postecoglou could still find himself without a job even if he wins a first trophy in 17 years.

The relationship with the players and fans is toxic, with reports of rifts between the boss and senior players and the Australian seen clashing with supporters on numerous occasions.
The 59-year-old has to take his share of responsibility for the bizarre campaign, although he has been hampered by a brutal injury crisis, his refusal to change his tactical approach and intense training methods did not help the situation.
Whether Postecoglou’s rapport with his squad and the fanbase is an issue that is fixable remains to be seen, but winning a trophy is not necessarily a silver-bullet solution.
Managers like Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti could be available in the summer and Levy has a big decision to make, as they would represent a clear upgrade on the former Australia defender, and supporters would not be in favour of keeping Ange if they could get one of those.
