Sky Sports reporter shares when Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven will return
Tottenham centre-back Micky van de Ven will return from injury “in a couple of weeks”, according to Michael Bridge.
The Sky Sports reporter posted a photo of himself with van de Ven – who is attracting interest from Real Madrid [via Relevo, 28 December] – at the World Darts Championship via his personal X account on Monday (30 December).
Alongside the photo, Bridge wrote, “Great to have Micky van de Ven with us tonight. Back in a couple of weeks and ready for a big 2025.” However, a doctor has speculated that the Dutchman might need months to return to his best.
Ange Postecoglou to be boosted by Micky van de Ven return at Tottenham?
It is difficult to imagine a time when a manager has needed a player back from injury more than Ange Postecoglou needs van de Ven back.
The Australian is in serious trouble in North London with Spurs having won just two of their previous 10 matches in all competitions.
However, the amount of injuries hasn’t helped, with the club potentially already having a replacement lined up for Destiny Udogie [via CaughtOffside, 29 December] after the Italian became the latest player to suffer a setback.
Therefore, the sooner Postecoglou gets van de Ven back, the better. The defender is crucial for Spurs and one of the first names on the team sheet in North London.

As a result, if he is available to play again in a couple of weeks, that could come at just the right time for Postecoglou, who could see his job saved by van de Ven’s return to the team.
