Salah slammed over ‘disgraceful’ Anfield scenes in Liverpool win v Tottenham

Tottenham crashed to a 19th Premier League defeat of the season on Sunday, getting thrashed 5-1 by Liverpool.

Although it was the day that Arne Slot’s men won the Premier League title, it was another disappointing performance from Ange Postecoglou’s men.

It has been a dismal season for Tottenham, who sit 16th in the Premier League and there are plenty of questions being asked about what the future holds in North London.

Mohamed Salah embarrasses Tottenham in Liverpool win

Tottenham faced Liverpool in the final of the Champions League back in 2019, but if you look at both sides now, they are worlds apart.

Arne Slot has done excellently in his debut season at Anfield, guiding the Reds to the title at the first time of asking.

Postecoglou, on the other hand, has seemingly given up in the league while fighting for success in the Europa League, the only thing that could save his future now.

After getting in on the act by scoring, Salah took a selfie in front of the Liverpool fans in a rather unique celebration – albeit one that did not go down universally well.

Speaking live on talkSPORT (28 April, 22:08), Jamie O’Hara was left stunned by the actions as he said: “The selfie was a disgrace. When I saw that… it just sums up where we are.”

Postecoglou on thin ice at Tottenham

Losing to Liverpool isn’t a unique experience this season, given that they have lost just two games throughout the campaign.

However, the nature of Tottenham’s performance summed up plenty of issues they have faced this season and the number of goals they were beaten by was shocking.

Admittedly, the boss will have all focus on the Europa League semi-final against Bodo/Glimt, knowing that will be the only way he has a chance at saving his future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, the likelihood of that is decreasing with suggestions that Daniel Levy is considering making a change, regardless of the level of success achieved this term.

All the Australian can do in the meantime is keep his side progressing in the hope that it proves to be enough.

That being said, the next Premier League game facing the Lilywhites is against West Ham, and if they lose that then Graham Potter’s men can leapfrog their London rivals, which cannot be seen as acceptable.
