Ruben Amorim in shock Man United quit admission ahead of Tottenham final
Tottenham will take on Manchester United in the Europa League final in just 10 days’ time.
The Lilywhites won the second leg of their tie against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday (8 May) to go through to the final, winning 5-1 on aggregate.
With both Spurs and United having had poor seasons, the prize of Champions League football will be massive for both sides.

Ruben Amorim makes admission over future at Manchester United
It may be a European final, but many are seeing the game between Tottenham and Manchester United as one that will be dross after this season.
The Lilywhites may have faced their struggles in the Premier League, but the Red Devils are just one place and one point ahead.
Team | Position | Goal Difference | Points |
Manchester United | 16 | -11 | 39 |
Tottenham | 17 | 4 | 38 |
Both Ange Postecoglou and Ruben Amorim have been the subject of debate throughout the campaign and there have been some suggestions that the loser of the tie could be at risk of losing their job.
The two sides showed their Premier League struggles upon a return to Premier League football with the Lilywhites losing 2-0 against Crystal Palace, while United fell to the same result against West Ham.
While Postecoglou has taken the bolshy approach when it comes to speculation about his future, Amorim has been the polar opposite.
In his post-match press conference after the Hammers defeat, Amorim cast doubt over his own future at Old Trafford as he said: “It’s not the players’ fault. It’s my fault, I’m responsible.
“If we cannot change that really fast, we should give our place to different persons.”
Reading between the lines, these comments suggest Amorim could quit United before too long if results do not improve – regardless of what happens in the Europa League final.
Europa League final crucial on both sides
Given just how poor both Tottenham and Manchester United have been this season, the idea of either side competing in the Champions League next season seems crazy.
It is a topic that has caused plenty of debate this week, but there is something big to be played for and therefore, both sides have to be at the top of their game.
Postecoglou is surely feeling more pressure than his counterpart due to the fact he probably has a stronger squad and also, has seemingly taken less responsibility in the part he has had to play for the failings this term.
It’s hard to see how Daniel Levy can stand beside the Australian, regardless of the result in Bilbao with domestic form well below par.
As it stands, it is surely shaping up as a battle not to be the worst.
