Roy Keane takes dig at Igor Tudor after off-field Tottenham developments – he has a point
Roy Keane has aimed a tongue-in-cheek dig at new Tottenham manager Igor Tudor following his disappointing start to life in North London.
Spurs were smashed 4-1 by arch-rivals Arsenal last Sunday in Tudor’s first game in charge, a result that leaves them just four points clear of the Premier League relegation zone.
The former Juventus boss has inherited a terrible situation from Thomas Frank, and the Lilywhites are now in real danger of dropping into the Championship.
Tottenham are yet to manage a single top-flight win in 2026, and have picked up just four points from their last nine Premier League games.

Igor Tudor’s Tottenham methods criticised
Tudor has made a concerted effort to improve the atmosphere around Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since his appointment, especially among the players.
Ahead of their defeat to Arsenal last weekend, photos emerged from a team dinner in London, organised by the Croatian and attended by all Spurs players and staff.
However, it did little to help their performance level on the pitch, with the Gunners highlighting the gap in quality between the two sides with a dominant second-half performance.
Manchester United legend Keane questioned Tudor’s morale-building methods in a light-hearted dig at the interim manager.
Speaking on Stick to Football, the former Republic of Ireland international joked that the new Spurs boss should focus on getting his players on the training pitch.
“You’re talking about the new Spurs manager, he took them out for a meal last week in London, did you see that? Took them out for a meal and then they lose 4-1. Try getting on the training pitch.”
Keane was joking, of course, but there is an element of truth to it. The players simply need to be put through their paces as much as possible on the grass, rather than trying to do too much outside the box.
What next for Tottenham under Igor Tudor?
With Tottenham now firmly in a relegation fight, their next five games take on a whole new level of importance.
The North London side travel to Craven Cottage to face Fulham on Sunday, before welcoming Crystal Palace to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
| Date | Opponent |
| 1 Mar | Fulham (A) |
| 5 Mar | Crystal Palace (H) |
| 15 Mar | Liverpool (A) |
| 22 Mar | Nottingham Forest (H) |
| 11 Apr | Sunderland (A) |
Spurs then take on Liverpool and Nottingham Forest before making the trip to Sunderland midway through April.
Tudor’s side desperately need to find some form in the next six weeks, in order to avoid sliding further down the Premier League table.
