Robbie Savage demands immediate Premier League change after Tottenham saga
Ange Postecoglou was left raging at Stamford Bridge as his Tottenham side crashed to yet another defeat against Chelsea on Thursday.
Spurs left their London rivals with nothing after a 1-0 defeat, with Enzo Fernandez scoring the only goal of the game at the start of the second half.
VAR and Craig Pawson took centre stage again, though, as Pape Sarr saw an equaliser disallowed after a foul on Moises Caicedo, which eventually saw 12 minutes added on at the end.

Writing in the print edition of the Daily Mirror (5 April, pg 59), Robbie Savage used his column to once again call for big changes in the Premier League.
The former Derby and Birmingham midfielder could not believe it took VAR and the officials so long to decide to, correctly, rule out Sarr’s goal at Chelsea.
“The case for ex-professional players joining the VAR panels to help reach the correct decisions is now overwhelming,” he wrote.
“After waiting ages for Pape Sarr’s ‘equaliser’ for Tottenham at Chelsea to be ruled out for a clear and obvious foul, it’s time to add some know-how to the process.
“In the case of Sarr’s disallowed goal, why did it take several minutes to reach the obvious conclusion that it was a foul?”

Postecoglou fights for his job at Tottenham
In a season where Spurs have somehow lost 16 of their 30 Premier League matches so far, surely they are guaranteed a much-needed win on Sunday.
Southampton are the visitors to North London, a team they have beaten 5-0 already this season and who still remain one point shy of the worst Premier League total of all time.
Tottenham have only won one of their last 10 home games, though, and pressure is at an all-time high over the future of Postecoglou in the dugout.
Daniel Levy appears to be waiting to pull the trigger until after the upcoming Europa League quarter-final against Eintracht Frankfurt, with silverware still possible.
Premier League 2024/25 | Position | Points |
Brighton | 8th | 47 |
Tottenham | 14th | 34 |
The Europa League is the final chance to earn European football again next season, and after recent accounts highlighted a £50million difference in prize money without it, Levy will be twitching.
Tottenham fans want Postecoglou sacked now, though, especially after he appeared to cup his ears towards the away support at Stamford Bridge before this goal was disallowed.
The clock is ticking for Ange, and VAR took the brunt of that, with a change needed now.
