Richarlison rewarded for Tottenham form as new announcement made
Tottenham have enjoyed a bright start to the season, and perhaps no one has experienced a better revival than Richarlison.
Richarlison was one of Tottenham’s best players in the UEFA Super Cup defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Brazilian then scored twice in the opening game of the season against Burnley and was fantastic in the victory over Manchester City.
It seems as if Thomas Frank has already figured out how to get the best out of his striker.
Now, he has been rewarded for his great form in a Tottenham shirt.
Richarlison called up to Brazil squad
Richarlison has been called up to the latest Brazil squad for the next set of World Cup qualifiers.
Brazil will take on Chile at home on 5 September and then travel to Bolivia for a match on 10 September.
Carlo Ancelotti is the new Brazilian coach, having being appointed in May. He called up Richarlison for his first set of fixtures in June, breaking his two-year absence from the national team.
Now, he’s back in the fold again, as confirmed in an announcement by the Brazilian FA on Monday.
Ancelotti managed Richarlison at Everton. The striker was a key player for him during his brief stint at Goodison Park. That’s arguably when we saw the best of Richarlison in England.
He’ll be hoping to recover that form this season, so he can be the main man for Brazil during this summer’s World Cup.
Richarlison ready to show his best form in a Tottenham shirt
There were rumours that Tottenham would sell Richarlison earlier this summer.
He was suffering from a long spell of poor form under Ange Postecoglou and becoming something of a joke among opposition fans.
He surely won’t be sold now, and not just because we are starting to see signs of peak Richarlison returning.

Tottenham are already short of attacking options. Richarlison and Dominic Solanke are the only real out-and-out striking options.
Spurs are also desperately hunting for playmakers. With only one week to go until the transfer window closes, it will be difficult for Spurs to find an adequate replacement for Richarlison or any of their attacking players.
And why should they want to seek out a replacement now? Richarlison may hit new heights in a Spurs shirt this season, and he is excited to show the fans what he can do.
