Real Madrid to blow Tottenham out of water after new bombshell update

Tottenham’s pursuit of Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola could be hampered by Real Madrid.

The Cherries boss had been touted as a leading contender for the vacancy if Ange Postecoglou is sacked in the near future.

The Australian is under severe pressure after a run of just three wins in the last 13 Premier League matches that has left the Lilywhites in 12th place.

However, there has been a new twist in the Andoni Iraola saga involving the Spanish giants and it could spell disaster for Spurs.

Real Madrid enter race for Tottenham target Andoni Iraola

The 15-time Champions League winners have entered the race for the 42-year-old’s service, according to Craig Hope.

The Daily Mail journalist reported (18 February) that Iraola would be near the top of the North London club’s list if the former Celtic man is relieved of his duties.

However, perhaps of more significance is the claim that he will be placed on Los Blancos shortlist to replace Carlo Ancelotti if he departs the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer.

Andoni Iraola would be perfect for Tottenham

The Spaniard would be the perfect candidate if Spurs decide to move on from Postecoglou, who has underwhelmed massively in his second season in N17.

The Australian has been working with a brutal injury crisis and a lack of significant backing from the board but the squad at his disposal is still good enough to compete and the position that they are in is a shambles for a club of Spurs’ status.

Meanwhile, the Cherries boss has taken to English football brilliantly and his side sits in fifth place in the top-flight, on the verge of European qualification, potentially even Champions League football, in his second season in charge.

His impact on the South Coast has been excellent but whether he could do the same at a club the level of Tottenham or Real Madrid remains to be seen.

Sacking the former Celtic man and appointing Iraola would be a risk, it would be a guarantee of success by any means but if results continue the way they have been, then the Lilywhites need to make a change.
