Premier League take action on Tottenham complaint after Fulham defeat
The Premier League have now deleted a social media post that seemed to mock Guglielmo Vicario during Tottenham’s defeat to Fulham.
Igor Tudor’s side suffered a 2-1 defeat at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon, with Vicario putting in a subpar display.
The Italian shot stopper made several wayward passes across the 90 minutes, and one particularly disappointing free-kick was clipped up and posted on the Premier League’s official social media accounts.
However, the video has now been deleted after being widely criticised by supporters, with internal figures at Spurs also expressing their displeasure.
Tottenham furious with Premier League after social media post
In the 51st minute, with Tottenham 2-0 down, Vicario took a free-kick from inside his own half, but his clearance bypassed everyone and resulted in a Fulham goal kick.
The clip of the Italian kicking the ball straight out of play was viewed by millions across X and TikTok after being posted by the official Premier League account.
According to journalist Alasdair Gold, Tottenham got in touch with the Premier League at various levels to express their concern about the video.
The North London side felt the post was very poor and that the “voice of the league” should not be mocking players or clubs.
The clip was eventually deleted on Monday morning, with the Premier League seemingly in agreement that it was in bad taste.
Igor Tudor has huge Guglielmo Vicario decision to make
Regardless of whether or not the Premier League should be posting ‘mocking’ clips of Vicario, his place in the starting lineup is now surely under threat.
The Italian shot stopper could only manage a 59 per cent pass accuracy away at Fulham, as well as conceding twice.

More worryingly, he only completed two out of his 15 long balls, and every single one of his passes into the Fulham half failed to find its intended target.
Antonin Kinsky is an option to come in and give Vicario a spell out of the firing line, and it could well be the path that Tudor goes down.
