Postecoglou ‘useless’, blocks Tottenham from new signings – ex-Spurs CEO
Claude Littner says it is Ange Postecoglou that is stopping players from signing for Tottenham during the winter transfer window.
The Australian needs reinforcements during the deadline with his side sitting 15th in the Premier League, which is piling the pressure on the boss.
However, there has been just one new signing in the current window and, as 3 February edges closer, there is rising criticism of Daniel Levy among the fanbase.
Former Spurs CEO Littner says it is the boss that is having the bigger impact, though, as he posted on X (26 January): “It is a highly competitive market. We all want the most talented players.
“Spurs are well placed financially, but who wants to play for a useless manager who keeps the same kamikaze style!!”
Tottenham need new signings
With the number of injuries in the Tottenham side at the moment, if they want to look towards a brighter second half of the season then they have to bring new faces to North London.
Levy has a reputation for being an awkward negotiator when it comes to bringing players to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, so it’s fair to assume there is a level of this attitude at play again.
That being said, Postecoglou’s unwillingness to adapt his side to suit the players he has available to him has drawn plenty of criticism and even with a fully fit side, there was still inconsistency in his team this term.
Nevertheless, the Lilywhites are a good club and for many players, you can imagine that it would be an attractive prospect, especially for those with a more attacking flair to their game.
Therefore, regardless of who the fault comes down to, the manager and owner must work together to ensure they are getting the faces into the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium that are required to boost their campaign.
In other Tottenham news, the club have been told to hire Andoni Iraola after a £10million Bournemouth exit development.
