Postecoglou scenes: Footage shows vile abuse from Tottenham fans after loss

Ange Postecoglou was subject to vile abuse from travelling Tottenham supporters at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Everton condemned Spurs to their 12th Premier League defeat of the season, beating the North London side 3-2 on 19 January, with Postecoglou facing the sack as a result.

Son Heung-min was targeted by the home faithful at Goodison. However, he wasn’t the only person to be subject to abuse from fans, with the away support aiming their frustration at their own manager and players.

In footage shared to X by xAlexTHFC (19 January), the travelling Spurs fans can be heard booing and shouting expletives at Postecoglou and the Spurs players as they came to applaud their supporters at full-time.

This isn’t the first time this season that Postecoglou has had a run-in with his own supporters.

After the 1-0 Premier League defeat to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium (5 December) Postecoglou was abused by fans, biting back with a few remarks of his own. However, on this occasion, the Australian decided to walk away, clearly learning from the incident at Bournemouth.

Therefore, it looks as though the Spurs boss is learning from some of his mistakes.

However, if his players continue to make the same mistakes on the pitch, it won’t be long until the 59-year-old is relieved of his duties at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Supporters are clearly not happy, and rightfully so. Spurs are sat 15th in the Premier League and could be dragged into a relegation fight if they’re not careful.

As a result, things need to change, and they need to change fast in North London, otherwise, the ugly scenes from full-time at Goodison Park will continue across the country.
