Postecoglou sack: David Ornstein shares what he’s been told by Tottenham
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is “100 per cent safe” from the sack, according to David Ornstein.
The former Celtic man has been under intense scrutiny, with Spurs winning just two of their last 13 matches in all competitions.
The 59-year-old is feeling the pressure and could face an FA charge for his comments after the loss to Newcastle on Saturday (4 December).
Speaking on NBC Sports coverage [5 January], The Athletic journalist gave an update on the Australian, saying: “Ange Postecoglou is 100 per cent safe in his job I am told.
“There is no uncertainty over his future despite the pressure he appears to be feeling in some of his public comments.
“They are backing him to lead this project forward.”
Tottenham right to stick by Ange Postecoglou
Chopping and changing managers every few months is not the way to win things in football – it just leads to more turmoil behind the scenes.
Owners should stick by managers in hard times and allow them to attempt to get out of a rut before they part ways.
Postecoglou brings an exciting attacking brand of football but has not been given the tools to implement it at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In the summer, the Lilywhites backed him with £122million worth of additions but only one was a major signing, the £60m purchase of striker Dominic Solanke.
The rest were Under-21s players who were not likely to impact the first team immediately in the way that Postecoglou requires.
He has also been dealing with an injury crisis and, while he can be criticised for not taking a more pragmatic approach in recent weeks, he is still the right man to take Spurs forward.
In other Tottenham news, a former Premier League manager has questioned comments made by Postecoglou.
