And while there have been glimmers of hope in Postecoglou’s reign – a Carabao Cup final spot is on the cards this season and his personality is infectious – he’s ultimately failing to deliver results in the league.
As mentioned, Spurs are way closer to a relegation battle than they are to a challenge for a spot in European football next season.
Unless Tottenham win the Europa League – and who’s betting on that with the way they’re playing right now? – it seems that the financial prize of a spot in Europe is well out of Spurs’ grasp.
