Postecoglou sack bombshell emerges in-play v Everton as Tottenham shock unfolds
Ange Postecoglou’s odds to be the next Premier League sacked have crashed in-play as Tottenham play Everton at Goodison Park.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Iliman Ndiaye both scored in the first half to increase the pressure on the faltering Aussie, who’s taken Spurs out of a bid for European football and into a Premier League relegation battle.
According to the latest bookmaker odds with Betfair, via Oddschecker, Postecoglou is now the 2/7 odds-on favourite to be the next Premier League manager to go.
Before kick-off, the ex-Celtic manager was listed at 8/5.
Ange Postecoglou sack concerns grow at Tottenham
The Telegraph reported on Friday (17 January) that Daniel Levy is doing his best to break the cycle of firing and hiring managers at Tottenham.
He’s churned through the bosses since Mauricio Pochettino’s five-year spell ended in 2019 and there’s been some real reluctance to condemn Postecoglou to the same fate that befell Nuno Espirito Santo, Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho.

And while there have been glimmers of hope in Postecoglou’s reign – a Carabao Cup final spot is on the cards this season and his personality is infectious – he’s ultimately failing to deliver results in the league.
As mentioned, Spurs are way closer to a relegation battle than they are to a challenge for a spot in European football next season.
Unless Tottenham win the Europa League – and who’s betting on that with the way they’re playing right now? – it seems that the financial prize of a spot in Europe is well out of Spurs’ grasp.
In other Tottenham news, this world-class manager is the favourite to replace Postecoglou at Tottenham.
