Postecoglou provides Kulusevski injury update after Tottenham v Frankfurt
Ange Postecoglou has detailed when Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski is expected to return to training at Tottenham.
Postecoglou’s side welcomed Eintracht Frankfurt to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday (10 April).
With Daniel Levy likely to sack Postecoglou if Spurs fail to win the Europa League, the Australian knew he needed a positive result in North London.
Therefore, his decision to drop Djed Spence was a strange one, and it proved costly.
While Spurs weren’t beaten, a 1-1 draw is a more favourable result for Frankfurt than Tottenham, who know they must now win in Germany to advance to the last four of the Europa League.
Spurs were dominant and created a host of chances. However, the attacking players let Postecoglou down, with Son Heung-min struggling, which served as a reminder of just how much the Lilywhites miss Kulusevski.
And Postecoglou was asked about the Swede after full-time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Brennan Johnson was awful against Frankfurt.
Meanwhile, James Maddison was blasted after “alarming” scenes in North London. Both Maddison and Johnson occupy positions which Kulusevski can play in, further highlighting the importance to Postecoglou of getting the 24-year-old back on the pitch.

During his post-match interview with TNT Sports, Postecoglou was asked if Kulusevski will be ready to play a part against Frankfurt in the second leg at the Deutsche Bank Park on Thursday (17 April).
The 59-year-old responded by saying, “The idea with Kulusevski and Danso is that they’re due to start training with the team, probably, if not the end of this week, tomorrow [Friday 11 April], early next week.
“I don’t think they’re a possibility to start, but Kulusevski has a chance to be involved.”

Kulusevski can be the difference for Tottenham v Frankfurt
If Kulusevski can return against Frankfurt, even just as a second-half substitute, that could make a huge difference for Tottenham in Germany.
He is the kind of player who has the quality to win a match on his own, and his involvement would give his teammates a lift and could save Postecoglou from the sack.
