Postecoglou on a different planet to Emery as ‘Crazy’ Tottenham sack on the cards

Unai Emery was able to get one over Ange Postecoglou on Sunday as Tottenham were dumped out of the FA Cup by Aston Villa.

The Lilywhites travelled to Villa Park on 9 February and came away knowing that they had been eliminated from both domestic cups within a week.

Losing 4-0 against Liverpool at Anfield was frustrating and wasn’t helped by a poor performance in the West Midlands.

The 2-1 defeat in B6 resulted in the home fans “You’re getting sacked in the morning” towards the Spurs head coach and many away fans appear to feel the same way.

Jamie O’Hara shares Ange Postecoglou verdict after Tottenham loss v Aston Villa

Supporters in N17 are beginning to lose patience with the Australian head coach who has struggled to get a tune out of his side in recent weeks.

This has been impacted by an injury crisis but even with that being the case, his tactical stubbornness and press conferences have started to grate on fans.

Playing up against Emery and the difference between the two sides has ended Jamie O’Hara’s faith in Postecoglou and believes it’s the end of the road.

Taking to X (9 February), he said: “It’s time to go now Ange is out of his depth, Emery is on a different planet compared to him and his players bopped us off the park should have been 5, we’re like reserve team playing in academy games that don’t matter, it’s crazy.”

Ange Postecoglou let down by Tottenham players v Aston Villa

Regardless of the result or whatever has been said by the head coach, the players did not perform at an adequate level at Villa Park.

Even typically excellent players like Son Heung-min failed to impress against Villa which sums up all the issues in North London right now.

With that being said, sacking Postecoglou may not prove to be the right option as any manager could struggle with this squad right now.

To be without so many first-team regulars while also playing twice a week, almost every week, is a factor that every side would struggle with.

It will certainly be interesting to see if Daniel Levy pulls the sack trigger or if the ex-Celtic boss is given the chance to prove himself.

With Destiny Udogie set to return while others appear to be close to a return, the Australian’s fortunes could be set to change despite the difficulties he is facing right now.
