Postecoglou latest: Real Madrid job shock amid Tottenham exit speculation
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is a surprise contender for the Real Madrid job.
The Spanish side are second in La Liga and knocked Manchester City out of the Champions League on Wednesday (19 February).
However, Carlo Ancelotti could depart the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer with Tottenham target Andoni Iraola in the running to replace him.
However, the current incumbent in North London is also in the running to take over from the Italian after a new update emerged.

Ange Postecoglou to leave Tottenham for Real Madrid
With Ancelotti potentially leaving his post at the end of the season, Postecoglou could find himself on his way to greater things despite a dismal season in N17 as odds have been slashed on him joining Madrid.
The Australian is now 25/1 with Bet Victor to take over from the most successful manager in Champions League history in the Spanish capital.
However, the former Celtic boss is ranked as a stark outsider for the role at 50/1 with most other bookmakers.

Real Madrid should not hire Postecoglou
It is a ludicrous idea that Postecoglou could join the Spanish giants after enduring a miserable campaign in North London.
His Tottenham side sit in 12th place in the Premier League and have been knocked out of both domestic cups with their only chance at a trophy coming in the Europa League.
Some of the blame for the dismal season can be placed on a brutal injury crisis and a lack of spending by Daniel Levy and the board but the former Celtic man has to take responsibility for his intense training methods exacerbating his problems.

He has stubbornly refused to change his physical attacking tactical approach despite several key players missing significant periods which has contributed to the poor run of form in which Spurs have won just three of their last 13 in the Premier League.
If Ancelotti departs, Madrid should appoint an up-and-coming young manager like Iraola or Xabi Alonso rather than taking a punt on the Australian.
If he somehow managed to fail upwards, it would be a shock to Lilywhites supporters and Los Blancos would be subject to a considerable amount of ridicule, for that reason it remains unlikely despite the odds being reduced.
