‘Postecoglou is going mad’ – Pundit notices major Arsenal v Tottenham incident

Michael Dawson spotted Ange Postecoglou raging on the sidelines after Arsenal equalised against Tottenham on Wednesday.

Spurs fell to a 2-1 North London Derby defeat on 15 January as Son Heung-Min’s opener was eventually cancelled out by a Leandro Trossard winner.

It was the Gunners’ equaliser which caused tension at the Emirates as the ball appeared to come off the Belgian but was awarded as a corner by referee Simon Hooper.

Dominic Solanke scored an own goal from this set-piece in a moment which caused frustration for the Lilywhites which Dawson described live on Sky Sports News (8:41 PM).

He said: “Ooh! You need to come back to me! I shouldn’t have been a corner in the first place.

“Yeah the corner came down the left-hand side, it’s good play from Trossard, and Pedro Porro goes to block it. He blocks it, it looks like it goes straight out of play but when you see it it rebounds off Trossard and it should have been a goal kick.

“So should the goal have stood? No, it shouldn’t, but Arsenal aren’t bothered. Ange Postecoglou is going mad on the touchline. He is not happy and rightly so.”

Ange Postecoglou goes mad at Tottenham v Arsenal controversy

The Aussie head coach had every reason to be fuming at the officials at the Emirates after missing what appeared to be such a clear-cut decision.

The ball obviously comes off Trossard and not Porro and should have been awarded as a goal kick, ending the Arsenal attack in its tracks.

This didn’t happen and the Lilywhites ultimately defended poorly and conceded the equaliser and the subsequent winner from the former Brighton forward.

No matter what Postecoglou thinks of the decision, VAR couldn’t intervene and nothing can be done to change it now, he just has to move on.
