Postecoglou delivers fresh Lucas Bergvall injury update at Tottenham
Ange Postecoglou has provided an update on whether Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall will be able to feature in the UEFA Europa League final.
Ange Postecoglou‘s side can turn a miserable campaign into a successful one if they overcome Manchester United in Bilbao on Wednesday (21 May).
However, Postecoglou has been dealt several injury blows ahead of the trip to Spain, including one to Bergvall after the 19-year-old picked up an ankle injury before the semi-final against Bodø/Glimt and was spotted in a protective boot.

Bergvall to miss the Europa League final
It is understood that Bergvall is desperate to feature in the Europa League final.
As reported by Paul O Keefe via X (14 May), the 19-year-old is “trying extremely hard” to return for the clash with Rubem Amorim’s side in Spain.
However, it doesn’t look as though the Swede has enough time to make a comeback.

Speaking ahead of Spurs’ trip to the West Midlands to take on Aston Villa in the Premier League on Friday (16 May), Postecoglou was asked if Bergvall was recovering ahead of schedule.
The Australian responded, “No, it’s still the same sort of timeframe. Never long term, but he’s just got out of his boot and taking his first steps on the grass, but he’ll likely be a while.”
Bergvall miss is a major blow for the Europa League final
Postecoglou has already been dealt some severe blows ahead of the Europa League final, with James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski both set to miss out.
Therefore, Bergvall’s absence is a disaster for the Australian as he bids to ensure that his promise of always winning a trophy in his second season is kept.
The youngster has had an impressive maiden campaign in English football and is one of Spurs’ most creative assets. As a result, the Lilywhites’ chances of victory without him will be severely diminished.
It will throw a huge spanner into Postecoglou’s plans as he will have to rely on Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur and Pape Matar Sarr, who are not able to provide the same impact as Bergvall.
The North London outfit have not had much luck when it comes to injuries this season, and it appears their bad luck is set to continue after Postecoglou’s latest update.
