Oliver Glasner ‘on Tottenham doorstep’ after Postecoglou sack news
Tottenham could make a move to appoint Oliver Glasner ahead of the next Premier League campaign.
When Tottenham appoint a manager, the remit of the job is to win a trophy and secure Champions League football, which is exactly what Ange Postecoglou has done.
Their Europa League final victory brought a major trophy back to North London for the first time in 17 years, though a 17th-placed finish has completely overshadowed that success.
In previous years, 40 points have been the benchmark for survival, and with Spurs failing to reach that magic number, the pressure is still piling on Postecoglou.

Tottenham have options to replace Postecoglou
Daniel Levy is yet to make a decision on the future of Postecoglou, though that in itself is an indication that there are doubts over his ability to lead this side forward.
Thomas Frank, Marco Silva and Glasner have all been linked with the Tottenham job, and Danny Murphy thinks all three would thrive in North London if afforded the opportunity.
In quotes provided by talkSPORT BET, Murphy said: “Should Spurs get rid of Ange Postecoglou, they’ve got Thomas Frank, Marco Silva and Oliver Glasner on their doorstep.
Matches | Wins | Draws | Losses |

They’re all very capable managers, they know the Premier League, and they’ve all produced fit, well-organised, adaptable teams at their respective clubs. I think any of those three would thrive in the Spurs job with the players they’d have at their disposal.
“They may look further afield for a new manager, and then who knows where they might go? Ultimately, if they make a change, then I feel like it should be someone who is already working well in the Premier League – if they can get them, that is.
“I think one of Frank, Silva or Glasner will end up at Spurs.”
If Tottenham do sack Postecoglou, they may have to pay upwards of £5million in compensation, on top of the £2m bonus he has already received for winning the Europa League, making the next hire a potentially expensive one.

Levy needs to pull the trigger at Spurs
If Spurs are going to make a change, they need to do it well in advance of pre-season for the next manager to have enough time to stamp his own authority.
Recruitment at Tottenham is going to be crucial, and without the clarity over the managerial situation, it will be a remarkably difficult task to sign the players capable of taking this team to the next level.
However, based on the last campaign, at least domestically, Postecoglou simply isn’t the man to lead Tottenham forward, and a change is needed.
This summer is going to be massive for the future of Spurs, and it is imperative that any decision they make is the right one on all fronts.
