Morgan Rogers responds to Solanke message after huge Tottenham win

Dominic Solanke was in full celebratory mode after Tottenham kept their season alive on Thursday.

Spurs progressed into the Europa League semi-final by defeating Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 in Germany.

The two teams battled out a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture in London, but Ange Postecoglou’s men stepped up in the away leg to come out on top of a closely contested game.

Solanke scored the only goal of the fixture from the penalty spot after James Maddison was wiped out, needing to be replaced minutes later.

Solanke is ready for the next round

Spurs will now face Bodo/Glimt, while Manchester United will face Athletic Bilbao in the other fixture.

Tottenham are currently 15th in the Premier League table and have struggled dramatically in terms of consistency, but success in the Europa League could salvage the campaign and Postecoglou’s job.

Solanke took to Instagram to celebrate the win, saying: “Into the Semi’s,” with Morgan Rogers responding with a fire emoji in the comments.

Solanke repays Tottenham’s faith

Solanke was Tottenham’s big signing last summer, with the Premier League giants spending £55million to buy him from Bournemouth after an impressive period.

However, even though the 27-year-old had lit up the Premier League during the 2023-24 campaign, he’s struggled to find the same prolific form for the Lilywhites.

Solanke has only scored seven times in the Premier League this season, while he’s also dealt with injury issues that have stopped him from being available as much as Postecoglou would have liked.

However, his third Europa League goal of the season was a massive one that has made a significant impact as he looks to repay the faith that Spurs put into him.

With many now expecting Spurs to go all the way as favourites, Tottenham must respond to a different kind of pressure that was on their shoulders over in Germany on Thursday.
