Marco Silva odds slashed amid new admission on Tottenham job
Ange Postecoglou remains uncertain exactly if he will still be in charge of Tottenham come the start of the 2025-26 season.
Postecoglou guided Spurs to Europa League success this season and therefore wrote his name in the North London club’s history books.
However, a 4-1 loss at home to Brighton on Sunday (25 May) perfectly summed up what has been a dreadful Premier League campaign.
In fact, Tottenham set an unwanted Premier League record with their most recent loss, which sees them end the season just one place above the relegation zone.
A number of names have been linked with the job should Postecoglou indeed be sacked, including Fulham boss Marco Silva.

Silva responds to Tottenham job speculation
Silva is rumoured to be top of Daniel Levy’s wishlist to replace Postecoglou thanks to his impressive work across London at Fulham.
The Portuguese was asked directly about the speculation after Fulham’s 2-0 loss at home to Manchester City on the final day of the season.
Silva initially said he had no interest in talking about rumours, but when further pressed he gave a pretty telling response.
“I am under contract with the club and of course I’ve been in planning with the board for next season,” he told the assembled press.
“Everything is on track and the plan is there. We have the next two months to prepare for the season as best we can.
“If I’m under contract with the club and if I’m planning with the club the next season, of course I expect to be here.”
Premier League 2024/25 | Positon | Points | Played |
Fulham | 11th | 54 | 38 |
Tottenham | 17th | 38 | 38 |
Despite Silva effectively saying his plan is to stay at Craven Cottage, the odds on him replacing Postecoglou have crashed to 12/1 on BetVictor.
That puts Silva on a par with Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner, but Thomas Frank of Brentford is still the favourite among many bookmakers.

Postecoglou future still uncertain at Tottenham
Postecoglou has been asked what feels like a million times about his future, and each time he says he is unsure.
The Australian genuinely does not seem to know if Levy will pull the trigger, and it may well be that the Spurs chairman himself does not know.
If Spurs are to sack Postecoglou, though, then it needs to be done soon. Hiring a replacement clearly will not be easy, and there is simply no reason to waste any time.
