Lucas Bergvall controversy: ‘Investigation launched’ after Frankfurt v Tottenham
UEFA are assessing reports from matchday officials after Tottenham beat Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 on Thursday.
Spurs booked their place in the UEFA Europa League semi-finals with a narrow victory in Frankfurt on 17 April, thanks to a first-half penalty from Dominic Solanke, allowing the visitors to win the tie 2-1 on aggregate.
Ange Postecoglou has thus silenced talk about a sack for the time being, having kept hopes of leading Tottenham to a trophy this season alive in Germany.
However, the North London giants had to fight tooth and nail to emerge victorious against Frankfurt, who dominated possession and had more shots on target, with tensions boiling over at certain points.

Pedro Porro was hit with bottles, drinks and other projectiles while taking corners in the first half of the game between Frankfurt and Tottenham.
The stadium announcer at Deutsche Bank Park even had to make an announcement to ask the home fans to stop.
However, Bergvall was subjected to the same and had stuff hurled at him while taking corners from the other side.

The Frankfurt supporters’ behaviour has not gone unnoticed by UEFA, as the Bundesliga club now face investigation, according to The i.
The newspaper reported via their website on Friday (18 April) that the footballing authority are assessing disciplinary reports from officials after taking note of objects being thrown at Porro and Bergvall.
Frankfurt risk being fined as punishment for the behaviour of their fans on Thursday.
Eintracht Frankfurt to face punishment after loss v Tottenham
Rangers were notably asked to pay a £3,860 fine after their fans threw objects against Fenerbahce in the Europa League last-16 earlier this year.
The Glasgow giants were fined £25,720 in total, with UEFA punishing them for an offensive banner and blocking walkways on top of the aforementioned offence.
It remains to be seen what sort of a fine Frankfurt will receive after their supporters threw objects at Porro and Bergvall.
Tottenham, though, will not be too bothered, as they are delighted to have qualified for the Europa League semi-final, where they will face Bodo/Glimt in May.
