Lucas Bergvall at centre of ‘impossible’ admission from ex-coach after what he’s seen at Tottenham
Lucas Bergvall has earned plenty of plaudits for the start that he has made at Tottenham so far this season.
The 19-year-old immediately made 45 appearances in all competitions in his debut campaign for the Lilywhites last term, and he has been an influential figure for them so far in 2025-26.
Bergvall has played slightly further forward for Tottenham so far this season, and he already has two goal contributions to his name from six Premier League appearances.
Thomas Frank appears to be getting the best out of the youngster, and one of the youngster’s former coaches has now delivered a stark admission on his future.

It will become ‘impossible’ for Sweden to drop Lucas Bergvall
Bergvall’s eye-catching performances for Tottenham so far this term have led to increased expectation that he will also begin to shine on the international stage.
The Swedish star has already earned four senior caps for his country, having also previously featured heavily for their U19 and U21 teams.
However, he is still yet to earn his first start in international football, although that could be set to change in Sweden’s clash with Switzerland on Friday evening.
- Bergvall became the youngest ever Spurs player to score and assist in the same game against West Ham in September
- He has started both of Spurs’ Champions League games so far this term
- His yet to earn his first start for his country at senior level
Bergvall’s form is seemingly becoming progressively harder to ignore for Sweden boss Jon Dahl Tomasson, and a key figure in his development at Djurgardens has now heaped praise on the starlet.
Ex-Djurgardens sports coordinator Peter Kisfaludy, who helped to bring Bergvall through the ranks at his former club, has revealed that he expects him to become an integral part of the national team in the near future.
“I think many people with me feel that it will soon be impossible to keep Lucas (Bergvall) out of the team anymore,” Kisfaludy told FotbollDirekt.

“He should start now, considering how he is growing in both the Premier League and the Champions League and with such offensive qualities – he should only start in the Swedish national team.
“Look at what he does in a club that is at the top of the Premier League.”
Lucas Bergvall could make Tottenham eye-watering money
Tottenham may have never even beaten Barcelona to Bergvall’s signature were it not for Dejan Kulusevski.
The youngster had an agreement in place to join the Spanish giants, only for Kulusevski to then play a major role in him changing his mind and opting for Spurs instead.
With how his career has played out since then, the North Londoners will be eternally grateful to the 25-year-old.
Bergvall is developing into the kind of talent that could easily command an eye-watering transfer fee in a few years’ time.
He is rapidly becoming one of Tottenham’s most impressive talents, and if he can continue to take his career from strength to strength in the coming years, then it is surely only a matter of time before they start to face transfer interest from some of the world’s biggest clubs.
