Tottenham loanee Ndombele in bust-up with Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk – report

On-loan Tottenham midfielder Tangy Ndombele has been drawing criticism in Turkey amid reports of a bust-up with Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk.

The digital news publication reported online (via Turkish media outlet, Fotospor, 31 October) that the Frenchman arrived at his new side six kilograms overweight.

Ndombele has been following a planned dietary programme at the club’s training ground. However, it has been widely reported in Turkey the 26-year-old has been eating junk food while at home and ordered a burger at his hotel after Galatasaray’s recent Champions League defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich.

This led to a showdown with Buruk, and while the Turkish club have an option to purchase the former Lyon man, reports suggest that his loan could instead be terminated as early as January.

Ex-Spurs scout Bryan King told Tottenham News:

“If he is overweight, and he is not toeing the line with his current football club, I suggest he gets himself back in shape, especially before he comes back to Tottenham. But then again, how long will that take him?

“He is not good enough for Tottenham, and now he is not good enough for Galatasaray. He doesn’t sound like the kind of player that Ange Postecoglou would show any interest in.

“He wants grafters, and this player sounds like he is trouble.

“He was a waste of money then, and he is a waste of money now. He was signed at a time when Tottenham made some poor recruitment decisions.”

In other Tottenham news, John Wenham has suggested those higher up at the club must give Postecoglou the right backing.
