Levy ‘has tough Postecoglou sack decision’ after ‘phenomenal’ Tottenham scenes

Daniel Levy has a tough decision to make regarding Ange Postecoglou’s future after what happened at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

Postecoglou will still be riding high after winning the UEFA Europa League, but it seems Levy may have climbed back down to earth after Spurs finished 17th in the Premier League following defeat to Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (25 May).

Tottenham took the lead in the first half after Dominic Solanke buried his penalty. However, Brighton took control in the second half, securing a 4-1 victory in North London.

And with the season officially finished, Levy must now decide on what the future holds for Postecoglou.

Tottenham supporters in high spirits despite defeat v Brighton

Levy looked furious at full-time as Tottenham were thrashed by Brighton.

However, despite the negative result, which confirmed Spurs’ lowest-ever Premier League finish, supporters didn’t seem too fazed.

As reported by BBC Final Score’s Laura Kenyon [via BBC Sport, 25 May, 5:06 pm], the scenes at half-time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium were “absolutely phenomenal”.

Supporters waved their flags with pride to Adele before ‘Freed from Desire’ blasted through the speakers, and that positivity didn’t diminish after Spurs went behind, with Postecoglou’s name continuing to be sung in the south stand, as per Alasdair Gold (25 May).

Therefore, if he didn’t already before, it seems as though Levy has a difficult decision on his hands when it comes to Postecoglou.

Levy will have a hard time deciding Postecoglou’s future

Now with Spurs supporters singing Postecoglou’s praises, Levy will have a difficult time deciding whether or not to dispose of the current Tottenham manager.

Bringing a trophy back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is an incredible achievement, and now that the fans are firmly in Postecoglou’s corner, a move to sack the 59-year-old could backfire.

However, 22 Premier League defeats in a single campaign is unacceptable and must be taken into consideration. Overall, while there is no easy choice, a decision must be made to secure the future of the North London club.
